Thermostat location
Discussion
My car runs a 100deg water temp. I am sure that it has crept up slightly over the last few months and would like to check the thermostat is working correctly.
Trouble is, I don't know where it is. I could rummage around and I'm sure I'll find it eventually, but if someone could point me to it then it will save me some time.
I will run the car with it out to prove a point, but is this a bad thing to do or will the car just take longer to warm ?

I might be wrong but the gauge should read 90ish as a defult, this is programmed into the ecu, it only reads diferently if there is a problem. Trouble is, I don't know where it is. FYI, it is generally not a good idea to remove the thermostat from the cooling system. The thermostat provides a flow restriction and back pressure that are both needed to prevent cavitation at the water pump impeller. The cooling efficiency of the system can be compromised without that restriction.
