Yes. I'm interpreting this as you can only place an order for a v6 and not an AMG car which might be a downer for those wanting the latter (me included).

I would imagine so.

From the very first PH story about it, back on 8th July:
"...all First Edition cars to be powered by the 3.5-litre supercharged V6..."
"...Lotus dealers are taking deposits now for the V6 First Edition ahead of spring deliveries..."

Yup, remember reading that and glossed over the detail. I think if they can give some certainty on the AMG version I'll hang in there but if it's open ended probably not. Subject to liking the car in the flesh.
