So I have been looking for a long time.

Finally got around to going to see a car properly in person (it was a Red s/h AMG)

I am fairly sure from doing a lot of reading that my preferred spec would be as follows:

Manual V6
Sports Suspension
Atlantis Blue
Silver wheels V-spoke
MPS Cup tyres
Yellow Calipers
Black & Yellow Leather
KEF Audio
Convenience Pack
High Beam Assist

So I will need to go a test drive (which I think is becoming more difficult?)

But

Think I want the sports suspension even though I will not track it (very much) I want it to be direct and have as much feel as possible - having had a fair few cars with hard suspension and previous Lotuses - I think Lotus hard will not be that hard!

The seats concern me as they felt as if I was sitting on them rather than in them (seems others feel the same)
has anyone in the UK got the Tillett seats ?

Are the Ultra-light wheels any lighter than standard?

Oh and I think the full Miltec exhaust is a no brainer - I see it is not as expensive as I thought - any real issues with warranty

I would consider up to 1 year old if one came up but from what i am hearing Manual V6s are few and far between. What is the delivery time OR rather does anyone know when you will not be able to order a V6 Manual - I am not in a massive rush as I would need to build a new garage for the car!

There's plenty of nice second hand cars out there - finding a sports suspension is more tricky though - 90% if not more are touring. If you're going new - then I think waiting on a new V6 is a while - though getting accurate info out of Lotus can be tricky. Have you talked to a dealer?

AT is your friend!

Good luck let us know how you get on.

Might be worth a quick chat with a dealer ( I’m assuming the Lotus business model now “ allows “ that in terms of sourcing new though ?
Lotus Silverstone ( or whatever they are now calling themselves - Woodcote ?) were always good to deal with ( Aimee’s the SM ).
I saw they had a lovely looking Atlantis blue turbo in stock.

Yeah and you know how much we all love those. On the FE cars it doesn't have hardly any of that rubbish.

Unless money is not a factor for you then I would seriously consider a lightly used car. I don't know what your spec comes out at on the configurator, but I suspect it comfortably sails past £100K and maybe over £110K. So you're potentially saving £40K on a used car with just a few thousand miles on it (and in fully optioned FE spec). You'll also likely never suffer any depreciation, as prices have held solid for the last 18 months.

The exhaust is maybe not the obvious no brainer you think it is. The V6 cars are loud as stock. I'm not even sure how they got them through regulations. But if you just remove the 3rd cat (cheap easy mod) they become so loud they'll fail most track day limits. You're well into neighbours hating you territory. How much louder do you really want to go?

Fair point about the exhaust - I guess sampling it is the way forward as youtube videos and the like are not an exact science!

As this will hopefully be a keeper I want the car to be as close as possible to my ideal which limits the options quite a lot.

Key requirements are Manual V6 and specific colour but other 'options can be added without too much fuss (perhaps different suspension and upgraded Hifi i don't need a silly loud system but something that sounds as good as my other cars - and do not want it to intrude on cabin space but my previous Lotuses we pretty mediocre )

The KEF was woeful to start off with but the very latest software re-flash on my car transformed mine. I had been speaking to both KEF and Lotus and offering my car to KEF to illustrate quite how bad it was (and I have some KEF home stuff so I know how good they can be).

A used V6 and then get a good quality wrap in a unique colour you love is an option. I concur I think the exhaust is fairly loud as standard and I nearly always go aftermarket exhaust system. I'd live with OEM for a while and see if you really need anything more.
