Out of curiosity, I've always fanced doing a car from scratch but, it would be a dedicated track day car and a single seater too. Are there any plans along these lines? Most kits tend to be aimed at the 'road legal' market and 2 or more seats. Thinking of a supercharged bike engined vehicle, ~300Kg and ~250bhp.

There are three books that may assist you:
  • High Speed - Low Cost by Allan Staniforth
  • Race and Rally Car Source Book: The Guide to Building or Modifying a Competition Car by Allan Staniforth
  • Racing and Sports Car Chassis Design by Michael Costin & David Phipps
They may be old and hard to come by but all have a wealth of information.

I don't know where you live but if you are near me (Ipswich) you can borrow my copies.
