Long time I haven't read about them and never saw an actual car for sale, are they just so good that nobody is selling or just that they sell very few? With their design they should have had good success.

There's a very nice new chassis for the Toniq R that they have recently or will soon be releasing. They seemed to be doing well at Llandow recently - the car was booked up all day.

Got beaten to it! Yes, they are developing a new chassis which will debut at Stoneleigh, and the styling is being revised too. As Alex P says, there's a preview feature on the new Toniq in this month's CKC!

I live in france, we don't have the mag. It's a pitty they are not updating the website... Still the question remains, have they sold many, there don't seem to be many up for sale, saw only one all year.

No. Don't know of any private owners at all. Saw the two original cars on eBay for silly money, but don't think they sold...

Anyone know any different?

Compared to what? Compared to a caterham they're cheap compared to a Robin Hood they're expensive.

It might be best to reserve judgement until we know how well made the finished product is and how well it handles. So far from the article in Complete Kit Car things look promising.

Found some pics of the new chassis that I thought some people might like too see.

I think the new chassis and suspension looks great and has peaked my interest in this car again. This and Aeon Epona are the toss ups for my next car.

Hi all,

OK official update time on the Toniq.

The development of the all new car is now complete. The new range will be known as 'CB' with a designation depending upon engine selection, for example Toniq CB200 for one of the Duratec powered versions.

The car will be offered in both turn key and kit form. The turn key cars will be available with either the Ford Duratec (various power options) or Kawasaki ZX1400 bike engine. The kits will be offered in modular or comprehensive form depending on preference. Those building kits will be able to choose their own drivetrain package if the Duratec/ZX1400 route does not appeal.

The new state of the art round tube chassis designed by Caged is superb, featuring inboard pushrod suspension front and rear (as pictured above). The styling will be familiar to those who know the Toniq R but is in fact almost all new incorporating many changes while retaining the originality which sets it apart in the 7 scene.

A huge amount of attention has been paid to getting the detail absolutely right and the resulting quality is excellent throughout. For those building their own cars this will be a great fun project - the CAD design and laser cutting of both the chassis and panelling includes all mounting holes (the chassis and panels are even pre-cut for rivetting!) ensuring that everything fits where it should first time with no time consuming and frustrating modification required.

The first demonstrator car is being road registered as we speak (just waiting for the registration paperwork back from DVLA) and will be available for road testing mid-September. All of the magazines will be testing the car over the coming months so keep an eye out for what they have to say!

Price wise the new CB range sits between Westfield and Caterham - full details available now by request (not allowed to put on here incase the administrators consider it advertising!).

Sales and marketing for the vehicle will be exclusively handled by Adrenaline Motorsport from the new 12,500sqft workshop and showroom.

The car will be displayed at the Top Gear MPH Show at both Earls Court and the NEC on Adrenaline's stand and at the Exeter Kit Car Show in November.

The new Toniq website is up and running here www.toniqr.co.uk

Please do not hesitate to get in touch should you wish to know more.

Hope this is helpful - all the best.

Neil.

Is this the chassis that Caged were developing for the Phoenix?

I got sent this by Phil a while ago before the Rainbird site disappeared.

I love the Styling, now it looks like its got a cracking chassis under it too. I'd love in in dark mettalic grey with as much Carbon Fibre as I could throw at it! And it would be great with an S2000 Vtec in it...

Hi Neil,
Is the new CB bodywork the one I have seen with the intergrated front and rear lights. If so can you post up some pictures for us to have a look at. I found a couple on the net but would like to see more angle etc. The stuff on the Toniq website is still the old style.
Thanks
