Banham 130 - engine conversion suggestions

Hi everyone, Need some advice. I have recently acquired a Banham 130 (Porsche 550 Spyder Replica. I have some problems with the original Skoda engine and am tempted to replace with a different engine, but maybe go for a different flat 4 or flat 6 if it fits. I am tempted to put in a porsche engine and am also tempted to replace the rear drum brakes with disks.

Wanted to kindly ask if you have any thoughts or suggestions in this respect - maybe about the best engine to fit in and if you have maybe done some similar conversion, any dos or don'ts to share. Thanks in anticipation for your feedback and support.

I’d be tempted with a Subaru flat 4, but if you don’t want that amount of power then you could also look at the conversions for hillman Imps that use the BMW K1200 engine and for which there are plenty options for conversion kits.
