Hi PHers,

Can anyone recommend a specialist who knows what they are doing with Westfields.

I have a Westfield SEi with 2.0 Vauxhall Turbo CX20LET engine and will be looking to get it serviced later in the year and a few other little bits done.

I was thinking either a garage who are great with 90's Vauxhall engines or one who does a lot of Westfields/Kit cars.

I'm in Reading area so anywhere Thames Valley or even down South would be ideal.

Yes, I am aware the parking below is terrible...

Thanks

Simon

Hey Not Normal, sounds good. Any pictures of yours?

Makes for a lovely torquey car which goes absolutely nuts towards the upper end of the rev range doesn't it. Downsides are it seems to be relatively thirsty (I mean I'm comparing to a modern Golf R so maybe not entirely fair)

I'd join the Westfield Sports Car Club (wscc.co.uk).
I have sold my Westfield and have relinquished my membership of 22 years, but you'll go a long way to find a better group of owners or a better behaved forum.

Yes it’s a fantastic engine and laugh out loud fun whenever I take it out. My LET is installed in a Dax Rush and is far from standard as it runs circa 400bhp in high boost setting wobble

Plenty of pics on my insta feed (link in my profile) if you want to have a gander smile

Great looking car, is the Rush 4WD? My Westfield is at ~250bhp ish and traction can be interesting but 400bhp how do you put that down.

Also what is the spec to getting 400 out of the C20LET, upgraded turbo or more?

Mine is RWD and traction certainly is something that focusses the mind when you get on the throttle hard. The turbo is a bit old school, so managing the initial kick is the main thing in terms of traction. Getting heat into the big sticky tyres helps, as does a passenger, but realistically deploying that level of power is 3rd gear upwards territory in the summer. Low boost is circa 300bhp and that is still super quick.

Engine mods are extremely lengthy and literally everything has been upgraded/changed to operate reliably, as has the drivetrain to cope with the torque.
