Anyone ever been to watch this (for the F1 cars)

I have been to the British gp at silverstone three times over the last five years, and I must say the main reason I went was just to see the cars and experience the noise.

Now this has basically gone from F1, I was thinking about attending this event at Silverstone in September instead.

Anyone ever been? How much are tickets? There's not much info on the website.

Do you get any closer access to cars etc than a grand prix?

Would love to go just to experience a V10 in the metal as never heard one live and as far as I know, this is the only opportunity to these days!

I went for the first time the other year for the same reason you want to go. Really good day and would highly recommend it if you are into that sort of thing.

The tickets if I remember weren't very expensive (£15-£20 I believe, don't hold me on that though).

This was as close as I got when I went. But then I don't really go looking to get close

What is the format for the day?

Is it just like an open pit track day where they come and go as they please?

I assume there is no actual 'race'?

Lookd like you get much closer than at a GP!

I think this was one of the PH meets last year?

Was good fun, format is by class of cars however the day we were there it wasn't a race (apart from one I think), more like semi-amateurs in very expensive machinery driving at about 7/10ths.

Was great to see FXX's along with the sound etc.. but shame they weren't being driven full on

If you go it's also worth waiting until the end of the day and to get a look round the garages if you can..
