Fans of endurance racing will also want to read this one http://www.24h-lemans.com/en/news/24-hours-of-le-m...

Essentially, at LeMans the P1 class is the WEC plus a third Audi and there are significantly more LMP2 entries.

Apart from P2, which seemed the most popular category going the last few years.

Only Millenium (Delta ADR) and G-Drive continue from last year. No Oak, no Greaves, no Pecom... seems very strange.
Pecom don't exist anymore, they're now SMP Racing, or AF Corse without a roof if you will, but they have upped to a two car entry. OAK were hoping to be in P1 with their new coupe, which seems to have gone very very quiet. They also said they wouldn't contest P2 against a customer team, KCMG being an OAK team until the switched to Oreca of course.

For P2 action, the ELMS is the place to be. A very very good field, 42 cars, 13 of which are P2, should make for an excellent season. GTE/GTC is a bit of a Ferrari fest, but good to see Johnny Cocker back at Barwell.

Combine both of those P2 fields for the Le Mans entry, and things are still very much alive in P2.

That's a nice mix of cars, imho. No category outweighs the others. Should be good.

It can't be looked at as just the P2 teams not entering though. There are a maximum number of series entries, which I believe is 32 with 31 places filled. There are additional P1 cars this year, so some of the other categories had to give up spaces. There are also teams that have moved up from the ELMS (RAM, for example) and teams that have moved the other way (Greaves), so yes, the P2 section is down, but all others have maintained or increased numbers.

Three manufacturer teams in LMP1 cloud9

ELMS looks tasty too, 42 cars! I guess the P2s want the chance to go for outright wins (which they can in ELMS), as opposed to fighting for a class win whilst constantly been overtaken by the P1 cars.
