Why were they using the National pits, and not the Wing?

I suspect they save the use of the Wing for the events they know will draw a big enough crowd to make it worthwhile putting on the buses etc.

A few of them tried on Sunday afternoon. The reason I heard was that the paddock is too small.

To do with size of pits. Moto GP uses national pits as well for this reason.

It was an excellent weekend, reasonable crowd too considering how under-promoted the Blancpain is, it'd be even better with a longer race and less support racing

I have to say I thought I'd arrived at a track day. Hardly anyone around, only 2 grandstands open, one burger van, one waffle van, one beer van and 2 ice cream vans. One guy I met said he thought it was a real shame. He said he'd been coming to most major motor racing events since the 60's and the Blancpain was the worst in terms of promotion and spectators.

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the racing made all the more enjoyable by following it on the Blancpain app live timing facility.

Using the Wing adds considerably to the cost. We ran Britcar from the National pits to kick off our new season.
