Sutil's China fist fight

What do we make of this then? Reports are coming out that Hamilton and Sutil went out to a club after the China race. It is alleged a fight broke out, and that Sutil smashed a bottle and cut Gerard Lopez's "right hand man" across the neck. Hamilton's bodyguards got him out of there, whilst Sutil jumped on the first plane out of China.
Again, this is all alleged and not confirmed in the slightest - but what do we think? An interesting story, no?

If it turns out it wasn't an accident, then I disagree and so will his sponsors.That might tie in with reports that the Hulk is due to partner Di Resta next year according to recent reports? Maybe the whole Sutil package has suddenly become far less appealing to them (and more importantly, Mercedes).
It was bound to get out and can only cause Force India and their sponsors embarrassment.

A scuffle, handbags and to an extent fisticuffs is one thing. You can usually keep that low key and private.
Start smashing people with bottles and it becomes a very different question. Almost all the professional police forces now treat bottles in the same manner as knives as the use shows a determined intent to injure and harm...not just handbags. You get involved in handbags and so long as one of you hasnt put the other in hospital, the law is usually just happy to throw you in the cells for a night or cause you grief and hassle to teach you a lesson. You make it a serious case of intent to harm and it becomes beak time. Blackpool police have certainly put time and effort into getting this message out after the number of bottle incidents started to rise.

You will have noticed that since I was not there, I make no reference to specifics and all I know of the incident is what has been written in the press so far. Therefore I cannot possibly judge what happened or even attempt to explain it. All I can do is express relief at the way that it has so far been presented, because it accommodates the possibility of it being accidental and therefore the possibility that the implications for F1 and the parties involved will be less than if it was not an accident.
I have no idea whether it was actually an accident or not. I am just pleased that there seems to be a possibility that it was an accident.
How else can I say this? - I am not being evasive. I am telling you exactly what I think. I cannot offer any conjecture whatsoever.

My apologies. I thought you were demanding an explanation from me. However, having read your words again from a different perspective, I see now that you were raising a general point rather than asking me personally.
