Here we go, this circuit follows testing times religiously.

Therefore it's a no-brainer that Red Bull should score a 1-2 here.

The only dark horse that I can see is McLaren, but I don't think they'll keep up with McLaren here.

My only other prediction is that Massa will beat Alonso.

In performance, it seems to me the logical choice is Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren (who rarely seem to have the aero to run at the front here), Renault, Mercedes.

Sadly, it's usually one of the most boring races on the calendar, too. Think I'll paint my toenails for that one.

Hopefully a combination of KERS, DRS and the tyres will mean that there will at last be some overtaking at this track for the first time in over a decade...

But if there is then surely the new rules are a little too contrived!?

Im enjoying this season, but have my reservations about the new rules - its a little too blatant I think. Room for some tweaking lets hope, so as people actually have to battle into a corner, not just breeze past.

Anyway...

Red Bull 1/2 predicatably... and either Mclaren or Fezz to roll in about a minute or so later.

Its not the right way to think about it, but we have to hope for Red Bull mechanical failures to actually give us some sort of entertaining surprise for the result...

Personally I think that KERS and the high degradation of the tyres should be enough. DRS is a step too far IMO.

However, contrived or not, if it provides overtaking at Catalunya then I'll prefer it to the endless boring processions we have had there in recent years.

Can't agree with the DNF for either Team Lotus. They are getting consistently better and slowly reeling in the midfield. They also have upgrades for Spain.

It is more related to off throttle activities, so they still have the ability to use the blown diffusers just not when they are braking, so the fundamental parts of it will still work just not into the braking zones/off throttle sections.
