Actually I think it's a good thing - will stop RB running away with the season. They had such a massive advantage over the rest of the field.
"High level sources have revealed that the FIA has written to teams informing them that from this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix they will no longer be allowed to continue flowing gases through the engine when the driver is not on the throttle." ...
"Speaking to AUTOSPORT about the impact of the change in rules, Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner said: "I think that it is going to have an effect with all teams that have been utilising it.
"That appears to be 90 per cent of the grid, if you look at how many teams are running blown diffusers. It is not something unique to this year, it is something that started last year, so Barcelona will clearly show what effect this will have."
When asked if he thought the rules change had come about as the result of a complaint from a rival team to try and slow Red Bull Racing down, Horner said: "It is inevitable and the unfortunate consequence of success."

Laughable isn't it. It's not as if the concept is that new, or even restricted to F1. Look at the anti-lag systems in WRC and indeed the work doen in the F1 turbo era to reduce turbo lag with fuelling.
It really irritates me when totally legal interpretations are banned.
Anyway, I am sure Sideshow Bob will come up with something for Martin soon...his gestation period is usually a couple of years...

It isn't really legal though - using an air pump to modify the aerodynamic performance of the car was banned a long, long time ago. Sure this isn't sucking the air out from under the car but the rule that prevents such use still stands. It was only a matter of time before it got dragged up as a valid excuse for banning blown diffusers.It really irritates me when totally legal interpretations are banned.

Complete numpty here, don't understand this stuff at all...but...
Does this 'throttle' business go some way as to showing why RB are so far ahead in quali, but not in the race? Purely by the fact that they can use the throttle in quali to blow the diffuser, but to do so in the race would maybe put too much stress on the engine/require too much fuel to make it efficient?
Something along those lines????
