I need a bit of infomation i hope one of you chaps could help me with. Does anyone know when the factory changed the spec on the roll cage and added the side impact bars to drivers side ? Also would the original cage without the impact bars conform to 2011 regs for the challenge ?

Hi G,

I remember you saying on another thread somewhere that the Tuscan cage was MSA approved, was that for the modified cage or was it approved by MSA from the word go , can you remember by any chance. The reason i ask is i have had my rover Tuscan accepted by CSCC for Future Classic's seris, first race with them in August.
My car is early and does not have the impact bars which allows it in the classic's as unaltered but i'm guessing not for the Challenge,I would prefer that the car could enter either seris. It may turn out i surpose, that MSA will not except original cage and want the impact bars fitted even to enter the CSCC.So i best find out soon so i have time to add the bars if needed, so it will go through scrutineering in August.

Perry. I would have a natter with the organisers of CSCC, They are all an approachable and helpful bunch. Speak to Hugo. I would think that any non performance safety related mod such as running door bars will be more than acceptable to them if you explain that your other championship requires it.

MSA only technically requires 4 feet and 2 backstays with optional doorbars but I do know that most scrutes like to see door bars fitted to placcy cars like ours.

They wont have a clue either way.

my rv8 tuscan has the same cage as your yella one and thats OK for DTEC (obviously) and I wouldn't expect it to be different for other series.

Unless it doesn't have door bars at all?
Anyway, door bars are only of use if they are at a height that is relative to the chassis of the other cars. If not its only benefit is to keep the a and b bars apart.
