Virgin technical link-up with McLaren

Seems to be the way forward though doesn't it? How long before Virgin take a Merc engine? Or more likely a new McLaren engine in what, 2014? 2015?
Merc are already supplying engines to 3 teams, so unless Renault can get the limit overturned, I don't see anyone switching to the Cosworth engine it would free up...MiniMan64 said:

That would guarantee McLaren some long term business from a company that hasn't even been started yet.Good move by Uncle Ron I'd say.
It may or may not be relevant that I got this job in my in-box the other day:

Still a shame having to see the VR logo on their office though -to me, they're Manor!
Here's hoping they sign the deal and McLaren decide to expand up north - come on Ron, Lewsi and Jenson, come visit dinnington and its neigbouring villages.

Mercedes wanted out due to McLaren going from an F1 team, to a manufacturer (12c) - which will lead to stepping on many'a-toes along the way.
Probably wrong, but it's the way I think

My conspiracy mind has led me to believe they are building their own engines for 2015 as Mercedes wanted out.

not sure that's the start of it, was it not more to do with Merc wanting to take over McLaren but being rebuffed?Mercedes wanted out due to McLaren going from an F1 team, to a manufacturer (12c) - which will lead to stepping on many'a-toes along the way.

As a former resident, I'm sure they'd all love a Saturday night out in Maltby!
