All his writings are contained in the Motor Sport archive CDs.

Still, an irreplacable loss. He was the living encyplopedia of early motoring history. This wealth of knowledge dies with him.

A great personality and did not pull any punches. A last link to the pre-war era of motorsport at Brooklands as well.

I will miss his articles.

I hope the Brooklands Museum set up some sort of memorial to him.

I knew this day would come, but still a great shame that it has.

The man was a total legend and a great writer. I sincerely hope that there is never an issue of Motor Sport magazine published without an article by him.

As he was 98 it is difficult to consider this sad news but he will be very sadly missed and he - along with Jenks - promoted motor sport when few others were interested. WB kept Motor Sport the magazine going almost single handedly during WW2 and transmitted his enthusiasm for all things motorised tofar flung corners of the world

a truly remarkable career - 81 years writing for the samemagazine must be a record.

I've never had any connection to cars of that period but alaways enjoyed reading his section in MotorSport and his link to the past was great to read.

Very sad news.

Although WB reached a fantastic age it is still very sad to hear that such a legendary and pioneering figure is now gone. I've been reading Motor Sport for over 30 years and up until very recently WB was still writing regular columns.

RIP We won't see your like again any time soon.

Started reading my father's Motor Sport in the fifties, Boddy along with Jenks were my introduction to interesting cars and drivers. Add those two to Raymond Baxter and the three most important people in early Motor Sport coverage, for me as a boy, have gone.
