Hi all,

Mam has asked me to pass these words on to you all:

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to thank you all for making Tom's memorial race day a
lovely day to remember. The lead up to it presented one challenge
after another so that, together with the emotion of it all, by the
time the day came around we felt very weary, anxious and stressed.
But, with the sun shining and everyone's welcoming banter, all the
effort was worthwhile and we had a wonderful day.

As well, I want to say a personal thank you to those of you who have
sponsored Dave to run the Great North Run in September for the Marie
Curie charity. What Marie Curie nurses do is amazing and their
support and care makes an enormous difference to how a family is able
to cope at such a critical and desperate time. When we took up the
offer of their support we didn't know what to expect - all we wanted
was an extra pair of hands available should we need them. They gave
us the reassurance that an extra pair of hands gives - there was no
intrusion, no decision-making for us, just invaluable warmth, care,
support and the strength that comes with knowing there is someone
there monitoring a situation from outside of the acute emotion and
exhaustion and fear that the three of us were feeling at that time.
We can't thank these Marie Curie nurses enough. If anyone didn't get
the opportunity to sponsor Dave, and would like to, you can sponsor
online at: www.justgiving.com/DaveStewart93.

On Friday you kindly donated £310.00, which is fantastic, and so many
of you turned out to support us and enjoy the racing - a very
impressive grid - Tom would've loved it.

Thank you all so very much.
