Just seen this video showing trouble in India over the new F1 circuit on the BBC…trouble brewing or just a small glitch?

Don't get me wrong I don't agree with putting F1 in India as well, its too soon. Get the farming infrastructure up and running properly first and rid of the caste system then it will be right time.

It will make money for a lot of people but not that many in India. The displaced people will resent the mega wealthy rolling in and out just as quickly. The country should learn to feed itself and look after the people there without handouts from others. This urge to develop places like India for a grand Prix is a bad idea.

Sorry, it was a sarcastic post highlighting that there's a huge wealth gulf in Abu Dhabi, but that it didn't seem to cause a problem for Bernie or the running of the races there.

I don't think that it is fair to compare India with Bahrain on any level in the context of a GP. India is a country with a huge population which has a significant car industry that holds spectacular potential for growth. On many levels it makes a lot of sense that such a nation ought to have a top echelon Motorsport event, whereas Middle Eastern desert states... I'd say less so (though that said, I guess that they do provide a lot of raw material for the fuel).

Don't you think that having a strong motor sport culture and an in depth support of ALL kinds of motor sport should be the fundamental basis as to where Grand Prix racing should be held.

Venues where the only motor sport event of any significance all year is when the F1 circus arrives is not enough.

The fact that people don't turn up to watch these events surely indicates that grass roots support for motor sport is lacking in these places.

Mabe they should build an F1 track in east Africa. The locals would be even easier to displace.
