According to a story on autosport, MG have been approached by a number of outfits looking to run a factory team using the MG6 and also a number of privateers.

That could be true.

Something job offer related popped into my inbox yesterday roughly along those lines. Interesting that this has popped up at the same time.

Surely this just means that a bunch of chancers have simply tried to punt the idea of the Chinese bankrolling their racing ambitions? Says more about teams looking for funds than MG being interested in going racing to me... ?

Hopefully its true there was an article last year but nothing came of it. Mg in the btcc were the main reason why i started to watch it i still think the black and green was the best liveries on the grid. But what team wsr would be the top team as the bmw is coming to the end of it days. But 888 vectra cant be lasting to long and gilham is selling his vectra at the end of the year.

Neither Im afraid John, there wasnt much to it, but I put 2 and 2 together and wondered if I had got 4. It was only a guess until I saw the OP. I didnt pursue the job to acquire any more information Im afraid.

MG has recently announced sponsorship of one of the MG/Lola LMP cars that was still around from their last venture into motorsport, so they must want to project a sporting image.

I don't follow the BTCC too closely, but don't the current NGTC regs make it easy to create a competitive car from any base car?

When the NGTC package is competitive and reliable, then it supposedly will - comparatively at least... That such a fuss was made about one making 4th in one race at the weekend perhaps highlights that while getting there it isn't perhaps a package that is ready for prime time yet. Though obviously by definition it should be at some point...
