Anyone hook into any of the live streams of NASCAR racing?

Always good to hear (and see) some V8 racing, but today's is beyond funny.

It's at Watkins Glen; a track which they refer to as a road course, i.e. it has corners and a chicane and stuff, rather than the usual oval.

Just before the off, it has started raining. So the race is suspended (before it started) until it stops AND the track has been dried! WTF? Fair-weather drivers? And suspensions last ages; the race could be run tomorrow!

So, given the delay, they get to interview more drivers.

Interviewer: So what are the challenges of driving here?
Driver: I've never learned to race on a road course. The corners are tricky but the biggest problem is the up- and down-shifting and having to heel and toe. It's real hard knowing when to shift gear.

Brilliant. Fair weather drivers who can't change gear hehe

But they still run V8s biggrin

I just read something that said the wet tire they have was designed before the CoT and is not suited to the car, dunno if thats true or not.

Road courses are a big challenge to the average oval expert, hence Ambrose, JPM and to some extent 'dinger do well on them, when it isn't raining that is.

Probably going to be a Monday race now.

Standing water all the way round, Definately inters in F1 speak.

The Nationwide series use the same dry tyres BUT the Cup cars can't use the wets due to the lack of the required rain caboodle and knowledge of WTF will happen when they run them! Seems odd that a junior formulae could run in the wet whilst the big boys can't... Wait a minute.

Does seem odd that the Nationwide guys run wets but the Cup guys don't, especially when so many drivers do double duty these days. The road course events are the highlight for me - the last few Nationwide races at Montreal have been amazing. Sure the top Cup guys would cope happily enough, but can imagine it getting a bit silly further back in the pack. They have enough trouble in the dry half the time!

its good, advert free coverage. worth the money just for NASCAR even better if your into gaelic football, Hurling and lower league football (unlikely on at least 2 of those I know) also Brazilan league football is on there too.

Blimey, that Ragan and Reutimann crash looked bad! No tyres / SAFER barrier in turn two might need looking at after that?
