Merc offers a chance to take on DC via GT5 competition
Well, not quite. On Monday 5th September, 24 prize draw winners will get the chance to compete against DC, who will be equipped with a real SLS AMG, but only via PS3 and Gran Turismo 5.
In the interests of fairness (and presumably to avoid whole sections of society not leaving their PS3s for the next few weeks), the identity of the track won't be revealed until the day, when the six fastest gamers of the 24 will get to race against both the clock and DC himself.
The fastest PS3 driver of the 15-minute final session will earn themselves an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2011 Brazilian Grand Prix on 27th November.
If you fancy your chances against the winner of 13 GPs, then get your entries in to www.mercedesliverace.co.uk by 5pm on Mon 22 August. And if you aren't one of the lucky chosen few, then you'll be able to get details of the track and car set-up to test your own virtual driving skills when they're revealed on the big day.

Anyway...
The upcoming DTM races are Brands Hatch on Sept 4th, and in Germany on Sept 18th. The upcoming F1 races are Spa on the 28th Aug and Monza on 11th September.
It is unlikely to be Suzuka, as DC will be in Europe for both F1 and DTM. So, by process of elimination that means it will either be done on Monza, or the GP Nurburgring.
Looking at the dates, Im going to go for Monza, as the week commencing the 5th is the build up to the F1 race, so the circuit is likely to be "quiet" that week.
So, to edit my first post, best get practising on Nurburgring AND Monza!
ETA - I do also recall Mr Brundle giving DC a cheeky compliment to his track knowledge at the 'ring during F1 commentary. Would add a bit more of a challenge to it. That said, I dont know what DC's record is at Monza. He could be very good there also!

Actually, if you follow the link in the article it gives you the current track conditions which conveniently enough match the current conditions at Dunsfold!

Careful with that, the cars are almost certainly going to be restricted to a particular setup.Question is, does GT5's online racing actually permit such restriction?

He's utterly pants, crashed out at most races he was in, crashed at race of champions one yr, stalled his demonstration f1 car another yr at r.o.c's and binned a red bull megane rs250 in the gravel at a prerace of one of this yrs f1 races. Oh and didn't he even crash on a virtual simulator going off the screen haha!He was crap. Please prove me wrong.
Bad driver but has a lot of experience, was in the right place at the right time and is pretty good at f1 presenting.

Define crap - he managed not only a decent F1 career, but he raced in some of the best cars available at the time.He was crap. Please prove me wrong.
The worst driver in the F1 grid is probably quicker than most other drivers on earth - the level of effort (combined with business savvy and luck) required is not inconsiderable.
So as I said - depends on your definition of crap, really.
