New Movie about James Hunt and Niki Lauda called 'Rush'
Discussion
Yes yes yes!!
This will hopefully be brilliant, 2 perfect characters to bring to the big screen. I hope they capture Lauda properly, I dont think will believe, even those who follow F1 but dont know as much as they should, the depth of character and nature of Lauda. Outstanding bloke. Brought the very best out of Hunt, go as far to say that Lauda could bring him peace.

The bloke from Thor is confirmed to play Hunt, while the sniper from Inglourious Basterds is playing Lauda. Could be interesting at the very least.
Also, the guys behind the Senna documentary are working on a feature film about Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins. So it's vintage F1 agogo at the movies.

Without taking anything away from from Hunt and Lauda, and are there more worthy and more interesting drivers to make a film about? Like Moss, Fangio, Clark, Graham Hill, Surtees, Hawthorn at Lemans 1955 would be good!
Why? What would be good about them? You could do 1958, Moss v Hawthorn.A better film would be Mon Ami Mate, but that focuses more on the relationship between Collins and Hawthorn and Enzo at Ferrari.
A film of 55? Hmm, not really, it would be just about the crash. A better bet for the human interest angle would be Rolt and Hamilton in '53.
Anyone else remember a series on BBC about great sporting rivalries (about 10-15 years ago). First one was Hunt-Lauda, second was Ovett-Coe. Still have hunt-lauda on VHS somewhere it was excellent.
Anyway it seemed to present them as quite good friends - I do hope hollywood doesn't feel the need invent some nastiness between them.

Just heard on Motors TV.
Ron Howard is to direct a movie about Hunt and Lauda called Rush. $100m budget. Not a documentary a la 'Senna'. Apparently just needs the green light from Bernie! Hmmmmmm......
Fabulous time for Formula 1, hope it happens.
