Formula 2 pre 1964 drivers

My father always maintains that his best mate and best man at his wedding was a handy racing driver who used to race in F2 or a similar formula at the same time as Jochen Rindt.
I have alwasy wondered if this was just family legend or true.
Is there a list of drivers in F2 from back then, that I can check this family legend by?
Unfortunately right now I can't remember the guys name which isn't very helpful I know.

That was quite a heady period for F2 with a lot of chaps who went on to F1 in the mid to late 60s involved. Indeed, F2 was so prestigious at that time that many current F1 drivers of the period also drove concurrently in F2.
I know he didn't go into F1, he apparently had a start line crash mid-season that made him lose his nerve, again family legend that, and he then dropped out after another season i seem to remember. Wish I could remeber his name, it would make this a lot easier.

Not on me, I will ask my Mum. I've never met the guy, apparently my Dad fell out with him or just lost contact not long after I was born. The team I haven't got a clue on. Do you have a name or a team?

I'm told his name was Mike Keen (though that didn't sound right to me when i was told) but apart from a Le Mans driver from the 50s I can't find anything on him yet.
Looking like family legend rather than fact.

Definitely my Dad's best man was Mike Keens with an S of the F3 Tecno. From what I've found on the net his profile fits with what my dad used to say. Keens' dad ran a haulage company, he had a spectacular start line crash and he retired from racing within a year or two of that. His was pale green. He came across a bit of a rock star type. Could race though.

Definitely a bit rock star. On the morning of my parents wedding he woke up having done the traditional Stag night out and pointed oput that he needed to get a suit, with three hours to go to the wedding. Only photo i've ever seen of him is in the bottle green velvet suit he ended up having to buy.
Thing is I really don't know how my Dad was best friends with this guy, my Dad just isn't like that at all.
Do you know what happened to him?
