Isn't it true that Ferrari are allowed to use a slightly different engine map here to give them a bit more juice? Some kind of historical agreement from years ago IIRC?! Anyway (and regardless of whether that fact is true or a concoction of my own brain) I think Ferrari will be strong on their home ground and Alonso will be on the top step, followed by Vettel and Hamilton.

nothing in the past would surprise me but unless they allow the red cars to install a bigger tank I can't see how they'd manage that nowAl W said:

If it's wet, it's Jenson's. If it's dry, he's still in with a big shout. I don't think Vettel will get in to a big dice with anyone for a position. He doesn't need to with Japan and Abu Dhabi virtually a guaranteed win/2nd later on.
I think that Merc will still be too hard on their tyres. If they qualify well, Rosberg and Schumacher could well be up amongst the leaders in the first few laps, but come the pitstops they will probably drop off like they have done this season.

That was very much a rumour and nothing more.You would be able to tell the difference in the engine note with an extra 6th capacity. It would be deeper.
A rumour which is true, is in 1967 after qualifying where he qualified 3rd, Bruce McLaren was told that as his car was built in Britain, it should be painted green. The McLaren mechanics were just opening a tin of the vilest shade of green they could find and were about to brushpaint it on the car when a race official ran in and told them that it could stay red (with blue detailing) as there wasn't a Ferrari on the front row. Apparently most of the crowd would think that "one of their own" had qualified well.

However, I've a hunch, sneaky suspicion call it what you will, for a progressively better showing from the Mercedes-Benz F1 team at Monza. They are definitely improving if only marginally, but slim margins are usually the only difference between successes and also rans.
Vettel's odds are 15/8 and 2/1 generally. A tad generous from the bookies based on the young driver';s form all this year. His off day at the office still got a 4th... so, how come this apparent bookie generosity? Do they know sometyhing we don't?
