BBC Gossip page reporting possible Iranian GP...

Given the hoo-ha over the Bahranian GP and political pressure, advertiser aversion, etc, to controversy would this ever happen?

One day I'm going to make up a press release and say that "The town councillors of Royston Vasey are currently in talks with FOM to hold a grand prix through the town. Local residents are keen for some "new blood" to be seen in the town. Butcher Hillary Briss said "yes, some fresh meat would certainly drum up some business."

The sad truth is that if they pay Bernie enough money it will probably happen. FOM, nor the FIA have any morals. Just look at the Bahrain situation. A recent history of human rights abuses, and still it is an acceptable place to race. It is the Iranians trying to pull off a political coup and it shouldn't be allowed.

If there is enough money in it then the Iranian GP would replace Spa or Monza or even Silverstone were the money in these events to slump in my opinion. Bernie just doesn't care about anything other than money any more. Why do you think all these Tilke circuits and non-heritage/pedigree GPs have turned up?
I think this is a dig at the Turks for not agreeing to thieving Bernie’s extortionate demands to host the Turkish F1 race in future. Trot out some publicity to say there will be an Iranian GP instead, make the Turks then feel obliged to one-up their neighbours.
This is how it will be if (God help us) we are ever subjected to the horrors of an Iranian GP:-
NO pit babes, instead women in black burkas. Actually, rather men instead of women.
Men only at the track
NO alcohol – cannot even bring your own
GP will be red flagged at least once for call to prayer, compulsory for all people at the circuit regardless of religious beliefs
No podium celebrations.
