Well round 8 gets under way next week and a lot of news so far.

Tony gilham who left 888 has joined GSR who last raced back in donnighton with dave newsham. He will be driving a n/a bmw but hopefully be running with a turbo by brands and hope to get the 2nd bmw out aswel.

888 are yet to get another driver to run the 2nd vectra so more than likly that there will be only 1 888 vectra.

RML and techspeed are looking at turbo power next year aswel as wsr who may build a new ngtc or turbo engines in their bmw.

Motorbase will run a 3rd focus no news yet on the driver.

Team aon looks like it will leave at the end of this year but good news that str are confirmed with running 2 seats leons next year.

So if the 2 entries do turn up and 888 gets a 2nd driver we will have 28 cars on the grid the highest number since ive been watching the btcc and with the 2nd audi appearing at brands hopefully a 2nd GSR bmw out and the insgnia aswel at silverstone we be up to 30 cars which i think is the most cars to line up since the 2 litre formula was introduced.

I will be making the journey to watch with a mate of mine be the first time ive been up since the last ascar race meeting a couple of years ago so i am looking forward to a great days racing plus you can see all the track wich is good. So whos going and who will be watching on tv.

The 3rd motorbase focus driver is believed to be micheal caine who races in the porsche carrera series. So that should be 27 cars on the grid with the return of gilham first time its hit the 27 car entry list that was published at the begining of the season.

And Cainey being replaced in the Carrera Cup by Nick Tandy - adds spice to that Championship as well!

I'll be trackside for this one, first BTCC event as a marshal and second BTCC meeting ever! There looks to be an IndyCar demo around the oval for the people who go!

(Although sending the touring cars around the oval for one race would be hilarious hehe)

Tony gilham has been testing his new car at brands hatch ahead of this weekends race, and i like the looks of it defentialy better than the wsr bmw and a lot better than the sketch of the design that was revealed.

Hmmmm, and the OP and i disagreed about this a while back, i said he would keep doing this, and the OP said it would stop. Sadly imho, it detracts from the racing, and makes it look like all he has to do is whinge, and the championship is doctored to suit him.

Oh well, let's hope it makes the racing closer and more interesting this time

Lets get this straight. At the begining of the year toca and dow decided parity between the fastest n/a car and fastest turbo car which are rml and honda. This latest adjustment has nothing to do with plato moaning it would have happened if plato had moaned or not. This is the latest adjustment

The NGTC specification cars [Toyota, Audi, Proton] gets a 0.05 bar boost reduction while the NGTC/S2000 and NGTC cars gets +20 kilos of weight.

So its not a great deal of change the hybrids dont get a reduction only the full on ngtc cars by 0.05 bar which is hardly noticable.

Anyway enough of that more news rob austin has updated the anti-roll bars and has modified a few other bits to hopefully get rid of the soft suspension that had handicaped it so far. Speedworks will yet again not be present at rockingham and micheal caine as been ofically confrimed as airways 3rd driver and hopefully do a dame site better job the griffin.

I wasnt starting the argument again Chris, merely making a comment that we had already discussed this smile

I think the NGTC spec is fast becoming a joke, adding 20 kilos of weight and constant engine performance reductions to ensure they are as slow as the old spec cars and engines.. how long is this going to go on for ?
I don't recall any other series dumbing down new spec cars to meet the older cars ?

Ford drivers (Chilton mostly) on twitter today were concerned the tyres wont hold up to the extra weight and were calling it a safety issue.
