Sounds like FF are going to a 1.6 Turbo.

First major change to FF in how many decades? hehe Whatever else, they always provide good close racing though!

Weren't they first designed to be a cheap way into single seaters, doesn't sound like that any more tbh.

Do Ford Motor Co. acknowledge this? Not that I'll be competing in it anytime soon but it puts me of from even being a fan of the class.

It does mean that everything from 2011 will now be uncompetitive. Good for the manufacturers, bad for the competitors. Good also for those who want a track day car which will wizz past everything with a tax disc

Not really, they changed from the Kent to the Zetec engine in 1993, then changed to the duratec/sigma in the mid-2000s.

I fail to see how this will improve anything.

Sequential gearbox means missed gears will be eliminated. Carbon crash structures will be expensive. A 1.6 turbo that they want limited to 165hp. Yeah, alright.

They havent been for years. For my last set of Avons I bought for the westy I got for practically nix from the FF guys. They had used it for one practice session. They will last 1-2 years on the westy.

Formula Vee and the HQ series are the only affordable level playing field racing in Oz that I can think of.
