Britcar Tickets
Discussion
I stupidly overlooked getting tickets when they were on offer despite attending every year, so I visited the official Silverstone site as directed by the Britcar site today.
I'm very confused! The site states: "There is no overnight parking at the circuit. Car parks close at 10pm. " Surely that can't be right for a 24hr race? I also don't quite understand the difference between a Saturday ticket and a Sat/Sun ticket, what is the cut off point for leaving on a Saturday ticket, and how on earth will they enforce it?!
Looking forward to the event anyhow, really hope they open up a good selection of grand stands.

Regarding your ticket question I think if you just buy a saturday ticket and you don't intend to leave the circuit at any point then you'll probably be ok. If you want to nip out to your car for a few hours kip or just to get something then after midnight you will not be allowed back onto the circuit unless you have a weekend/sunday ticket.
Last year I left around 2am and the chap on the gate was at pains to remind me that I wouldn't be allowed back in as I only had a saturday ticket.

Depends who you book your tickets through. If you get them direct from Silverstone you will be in the outside car park (just to the left as you come in the main entrance). I believe access to and from this car park may be restricted after certain hours of manning by Silverstone security though they will be able to confirm that if you were to give them a call. If you buy your tickets direct from Britcar ( http://www.britcar24hr.co.uk/2for30/) there may still be some internal parking passes left (free) which gives you access to the car park by the wellington straight for the weekend.
I would take this to mean that after 10pm the car park is locked up and you won't be able to get your car out until some time the next morning.Regarding your ticket question I think if you just buy a saturday ticket and you don't intend to leave the circuit at any point then you'll probably be ok. In the past before we started camping my group used to park in the car parks , as far as I am aware you can leave your car overnight you just can't remove or park your car as the gates are shut. We were still able to access the cars from the circuit though. I think you'll find tickets are for a full weekend or Sunday only.
I think it may be easier to try and find somebody with one of the '2 for £30' packages that can no longer go and buy them at face value, at least that way 'internal' parking is included. The cost via Silverstone is over £40 for the weekend now. I considered camping but as I'm going alone the costs didn't really make sense for me.

We've had a person drop out this week and have booked camping for 4 so if anyone is looking to pick up a ticket I have one spare at the moment.
I'm just looking to recoup what it cost me so would be looking for £30. You will be more than welcome to join us in the PH campsite as well.
