I wonder what car they'll use, the long association with vauxhall would suggest an insignia or astra unless there is another manufacturer involved?

Great news that a team is to convert to ngtc cars. If they were to build a vauxhall then surely it would be the astra instead of the insgnia as thornley are building insgnia to race at the last round. Mayby mg it was mentioned that a couple of teams went to mg to build there new car so mayby mg. Well so far we have 6-8 cars already confirmed for next year not bad its not even the end of the season yet.

Two honda civic team dynamics
two str leons
1-2 skoda octavia th motorsport
1-2 insgnia thronley motorsport
and 888 will properly run 2 cars

i think you could safely add Frank Wrathall and Rob Austin to that list, and i'm sure Dan Welch will do a full season next year.

I'd forgotten about the MG story, that could be interesting and would certainly get the brand awareness back up to the wider public.

I think its unlikely to be any sort of Vauxhall considering theres another team building an Insignia already but you never know.

A Mondeo would be cool. smile

I'd like to see some Volvo estates back on the grid - or maybe even some Polestar C30s.

I saw the new volvo s60 i think it was that, would look good in ngtc regs. Then again would love to see jaguar xf, mg6, merc c-class big saloons would look brilliant on the grid.

Previously Vauxhall have said if they came back it'd be with an insignia. I believe a shell was even started by 888 but work was halted some time before they pulled out.

I'm not sure an astra could be made long/wide enough ?

Insignia VXRs don't seem to be that popular, leading me to think they wouldn't bother, but then much the same could be said of the vectra vxr.

They will surely be watching how well Thorney get on before coming back ?

The announcement from 888 makes it sound like they don't know what car they'll be using yet.

Well more vauxhall teams news. Pirtek 2 vectras are for sale but they will continue in the btcc due to the deal with pirtek last till 2013. But they are not in positioning to confirm what they will be running. Mayby another team to build a ngtc car, one of the commentators at knockhill said alot of teams are planning to develope ngtc cars for next years so we may see some intresting new cars next year.
