Le Mans or WRC

Guys,

I need to get inspiration for my dads 50th birthday next year and would like to take him to a European motorsport event.

After much research I have narrowed it down to either Rally Deutschland or Le Mans, we have done the F1 thing to death over the years so want to come up with something totally different, also has to be June-August time really.

I know many people have done Le Mans and my question really is has anyone ever done any decent hospitality packages, perhaps with one of the teams? Can this be done for less than £500 each for the whole weekend?

Also has anyone ever done the German rally? Again with hospitality packages and decent access to the service area and the teams?

I feel I will get alot more action for the ££ if I go down the rally route....

Le Mans, it should be possible for a reasonable amount of money if camping.

If you can beg/borrow a small motorhome then all the better, which is a good balance in my view of quality sleep ahead of the race vs luxury vs cold beer storage.

If you do go, make a very long weekend of it and find the local events as well, and don't be tempted to rush off on the Sunday.

next year its a choice of two le mans,june you have the 24hr race, july you have the classic race.
both are brilliant events to attend .
does your dad prefer the modern endurance car racing or classics from the 1920s up to the 1980s racing around.
for me the classic is the more relaxed event , with a much more laid back atmosphere.

Done le mans a couple of times and loved it. Yes you can do it on that budget but consider the N24h too.
