A well though out show, well done the BBC! Some excellent footage of past drivers and so many great drivers no longer around. Can you imagine if Jim Clarke, Bruce McLaren, Jocken Rindt, Ayrton Senna, Ronnie Peterson, James Hunt and others were still with us.....

But as you have said BBC 4 is one of the best BBC channels.
So as the youngsters say - chill out!

It was a very good programme. I loved the old F1 footage, don't those older cars just look so 'right' with massive rear slicks?
I was a little disappointed that the former champions didn't give the cars a bit more 'stick'...maybe they had been told to behave!

It's a bit of a hobby horse - but I will bang on a bit until someone recognises the pre WDC era - including the 4 years of F1 that always gets forgotten.

The only programme I recall that specifically made a point of explaining the true story of the F1 car and its beginnings is the excellent Channel 4 documentary called "The Grand Prix Car - 1945-1965"

It's viewable on youtube and I would highly recommend it.

Saw it first time around, watched it again now on i-player.
A great little programme, albeit a bit poignant courtesy of the (deserved) fate of this years race.
Just a little heads up that you have to start watching before 20:00 tomorrow if you want to watch it this time around on i-player.
