Lewis a bad season? You must be joking!

I have watched F1 for 50 years and i can not recall a season where a driver has had so much media coverage and even on these F1 forums as Hamilton has this year.
His management company and sponsers are laughing all the way to the bank.
Most of the races this year the cameras have concentrated on him far more than even Vettel.
There is no such thing as bad publicity sadly in this world.
Much like Senna ,He is not interested in coming 2nd in a race the guy wants to win.
If you had a true poll of race fans across the world to which driver they would pay good money to watch in F1 Hamilton would breeze it!

That depends on the ultimate goal, I'm quite sure Vettel is one step closer to his, maybe Hamilton is also a step closer to his, but if that is the case IMO he need to re-access things a little.E30M3SE said:

Sadly F1 stopped being a sport many years ago and is now a huge money making machine that frives on publicity.Regarding Sebs second title , There is nothing Hamilton or for that matter any driver other than Weber could have done to stop it such has been the advantage of Redbull this season and prob next as well.

Very true...Vettel's goal is to break every record. He even said in an interview at the weekend he wants to beat Mansell's record of 14 poles in a season. He's all about the stats, and at the moment he may well get his name at the top of every single one.
I think that if Lewis was to judge his on track season, he would decide that he has fallen short of the mark that he set himself back in the closed season. That is all that is important, what all others think is irrelevant to some extent, except in terms of his stock if he wants to move teams.
He will see his success, see his failures, and understand how they have affected his chances for a 2nd WDC.

Yup he is obsessed with stats, he could quite possibly lay down the finest legacy in F1 if he breaks all the records. Meanwhile Hamilton will be forgotten about as a wasted talent. Was it Canada last year where Vettel was told 'dont even think about it...' when he asked if he could push for the fastest lap? Thats my kind of racer.

I think he'll accept that they didn't have the car to properly challenge RBR but his real dissapointment will be if he finishes below Jenson in the WDC.Equally Jenson will likely state they could not win WDC or Constructors and will be dissapointed if he finishes below Lewis.
Both drivers rightly hold themselves up against each other - they're both fast and talented (as are most to be fair), both have won the WDC and have clear potential to do so again.
If they can learn from each other and adopt the best traits then they'll both improve.

Who is currently the only driver who can beat Seb, even if we all know in the real world that will not happen, and what car atre they driving.So far as LH's hangers on and his bank balance are concerned this has been a good year. So far as his team and he are concerned he is being beaten by a teammate many thought he would blow the doors off and will not win the WDC for yet another year.

Agreed. But I tend to think that Lewis will realise that he could have put JB in his box this year if he had just played the percentage game versus the balls out game a little better.Equally Jenson will likely state they could not win WDC or Constructors and will be dissapointed if he finishes below Lewis.

It is correct, very attractive and capable driver(I am watching F1 for 25 years, big fan of Mansell).His management company and sponsers are laughing all the way to the bank.

He didn't ask if he could push for it, he just happened to ask what the fastest lap was................ But yes, that was the reply...... I think Lewis will be upset with his season, as he wants to win, and if he had a car good enough, could win (as could Button). However, I don't think McLaren are too upset with him for the reasons the OP states, after all, we certainly see a LOT of him when racing..... Indeed, Whitmarsh at Singapore said, in essence, that Lewis was a bit dull at the moment and that they wanted to see the "old Lewis" back...
I think Whitmarsh needs to decide what sort of Lewis he wants, and he keeps changing his mind, his defence of LEwis is also laughable I think the posters on this forum did a better job of defending him. Bring big Ron back thats what I say, Whitmarsh is to much of a nice guy we need some more EVIL in there!
I think it may be hard for some one who has not done any form of Motor racing to have any idea the pressures some drivers can put them selves under to win.
Its a lesson i learnt at a very young age when at Rye House I had won all the heats in my first meeting but sadly in the final i had a tardy start from pole due to oiling up dropping me down the field. Anyway was chuffed to get back to 2nd and had a chance to nick the win on the last corner but settled for 2nd. My old man went ballistic at me and chucked the runners up Trophy in the River Lea!!
In all the different formulas i raced in after i never ever finished a race knowing i had not given 100%.
This will to win was in Senna, Schuey,Rindt,Peterson, Mansell and many more.
You can see it in both Plato and Neal in the BTCC, Stoner in MotoGp , Kyle Busch in Nascar.
Just as much As i see it in Lewis its also in Vettle, Forget the cheeky chappy face ,The guy wants to win badly, Move on Alonso at Monza prooved that.
Might be a good move for some of the armchair pundits on these forums and in the news papers to book them selves into a Kart race meeting at their local track so they can get some idea what racing is really about then their oppinions may be valid
