Kimi Raikkonen @ WRC France

Like Loeb, Kimi Raikkonen, in a semi-works Citroen, will also play no further part on the world championship counter following his crash on the road section heading to stage three. Although damage to his car could have been easily fixed, the ex-Formula One world champion is already heading home.
“It’s over, Kimi has gone,” Raikkonen’s team manager Benoit Nogier said. “He preferred to stop. This is very disappointing.”
should a driver ever really decide that he's had enough and can’t be bothered to continue an event? i can understand if he had an injury or wasn’t 100% up to continuing. but to just up and leave even tho the opportunity is there to carry on i think is just stupid.“It’s over, Kimi has gone,” Raikkonen’s team manager Benoit Nogier said. “He preferred to stop. This is very disappointing.”
there’s so many people in the lower levels that are crying out for just one chance at a full WRC event, even down in the SWRC & Academy.
he was 10th overall before the 'freak accident' that retired him from the event.
i wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t see Raikkonen in the line-up for the 2012 season, especially since he's been dropped out of both drivers & manufacturer championships for failing to attend rally Australia last month.
anyone else have a view on this??

Why was he even competing if he'd been removed from the championship??
Williams should take note of this too, he clearly still lacks motivation.
i believe its under appeal, and he had paid entry before Australia.Williams should take note of this too, he clearly still lacks motivation.
i could however be completely full of it tho . . . . just remember reading comments elsewhere about it

As I understand it he hasn't been removed from the championship, just lost all points he scored.
cheers for that, i didnt think he was removed from the chanpionship, just had his points removed. looking on the WRC website, he's still in the drivers standings with 34 points, but ICE1 has Excluded on all results in Manufacturers standings
