Well the 2011 season is coming to a end 3 races left and 5 drivers still in contention with the champonship neal, plato, sheddan and jackson and nash distinct outsiders but thoese 2 are battling for the ind champonhsip.

Not a lot of news but thorney motorsport should be debuting the new vauxhall insgnia that will push the grid up to 30 cars the biggest grid in 2.0 ltr era.

After a poor performance of the ngtc cars at brands will they benefit from the nature of silverstone being pure speed and will dan welch get is first points of the season.

Hopefully ollie jackson will get good results and mayby get a few points to round of the season.

Should be a cracking days racing.

Whos your preditons for the championship i would like to see a new champ this year and sheddan deserves it but i think neal will beat him.

So whos watching on tv and whos going to silverstone to see it.

Me watching it on tv silverstone just to expensive for me.

I predict lots of shenanigans from the usual suspects, i predict MN and JP to have their usual 'non-contact formula' race, and Shedden will break down when it matters most. The HOnda team will have shot themselves in the foot, and guess who, will be champion yet again. I wont be watching on telly or at silverstone*, but will look in here for the inevitable reactions. Hopefully it will be a clean fight to the end, but i somehow doubt that

  • every time i go to that corner of norfumtonshire, it heaves it down, so i haven't been to silverstone since 1986

Plato is going to try and drive Neal off the track at every opportunity.

I'll be at Silverstone for this. Probably going to be the Luffield complex the majority of the day, especially if we get any of that wet stuff!

I'll be backing the Honda drivers. First and foremost I'd like Flash to take the title. If he doesn't Neal. They've both driven fantastic this season mostly driving cleanly. Plato however has lost a lot of respect from me. Whining about the turbos when his cars still pretty competitive.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the whole weekend. Just hope we get some freak decent weather again.

Neal will probably try to do the same thing. hehe

Maybe they'll take each other out and Shedden will get the championship.

I really want to go, but recent trips to Scotland and Wales mean im very, very skint so il be sat infront of the TV all day!

I hope Shedden wins it, but its got to be one of the Hondas with it being such a power circuit!

I just hope tis year they punish drivers using the turn 1 run off as the actual track as that looked absolutely shocking last year!

What i can see after the race is 50% of the people will say if honda win it was down to the turbo being to powerful and 50% will say if plato wins then its down to his moaning i can see this thread turning into an f1 thread after the race.

The quicker everyone is turbo and thats looking like next year the better. But i can see it being the same thing next year about the full ngtc cars are quiacker than the hybrids i hope im wrong though.

Probably not, but if Plato does come back next year with either a hybrid or an NGTC car, then at least we wont have a repeat of this years antics on his, and matt neals behalf, but again, i doubt it

ABP for me (anyone but plato)

But tbh i'd like to see Flash win it.

Also want to see Ollie Jackson and John Thorne go well.

Plus my usual favourites of Rob Austin and TOC.

I'm a big Paul O'Neil fan but hes been bumming Plato recently.

I'm not expecting any shenanigans tbh. I think Plato will take it.

Roll on next year. Plato can stop bhing. If he stays in BTCC.

Seriously though, that's actually quite hard at Silverstone. It's so bloody wide, you start fecking about trying to head one person off, and someone else will come down your other side.

I think one of the Hondas will win this year's championship simply because of the nature of their cars and this final track.

I think it was on btcc.net at the start of the year, drivers were asked to vote for who they thought would win the title (obviously excluding themselves) and most votes went with Gordon Sheddon, including Neal and Plato.

No skoda aren't fielding 2 cars but TH motorsport are due to feild 1 skoda octavia next year one for matt hamilton and if they can get another driver field the second.

Is gsr going to use the turbo engine in the bmw at silveratone.

The reason for the livery is that there current sponsor is due to run out soon so in its matt black paintwork somebody said it looked like a batmobile hence the logos. The rear ach is due to incorrect springs as touring fan said, it should be fixed for silverstone.
