Great to see the regs early as I'm considering entering a two car team next year.

One change that looks like it might cause chaos in the pit lane in the shorter races is this:

3.9.12 In a team with more than one driver entered, no one driver may drive more than 60% of the advertised race distance
measured in time. Teams will be issued with Driver Change forms which must be completed at every driver change
and handed in to the Chief Britcar Pitlane Marshal after each stop. This Marshal will be named in the Final
Instructions, Specific Regulations, Bulletin or Briefing at each round.

Seems a strange rule to add given what went down at Thruxton - also, no mention of what penalty this carries.

Anyways, some other highlights:

Points will be 30-28-26... down to 15th + 1 for fastest lap

Points only awarded to those who complete 40% of the class winner's distance

Minimum time of pit stops may/will vary circuit to circuit

Refueling allowed in the last 15 minutes of the race

Only the class winner will recieve a success penalty (added time in the pits)

Daytona Prototypes are elligible to run in LMPX along with SR2 cars and the likes of the Aquilla

Production cup can use any fuel

In the Production Cup, there is min/max weight & power instead of a power to weight ratio

Classes:

British Endurance Championship
GT2 (inc. LMPX) unlimited engine size, Power to Weight 2.6
GT3 max 6 litre engine, Power to weight 3.0
GT4 max 5 litre engine, Power to weight 3.4
GTN max 5 litre engine, Power to weight 3.7

Production Cup
Class 1 max 3.5 litre engine, 1200kg min weight, 320bhp max power (2.5 / 900 / 200 for spaceframe)
Class 2 max 2.5 litre engine, 1100kg min weight, 210bhp max power (2.0 / 900 / 200 for spaceframe)
Class 3 max 2.3 litre engine, 1100kg min weight, 175bhp max power (2.0 / 800 / 130 for spaceframe)

Production Cupr reg 5.2 says:

"The Britcar Production Championship 2012 is for competitors participating in cars which must
have closed bodywork around the wheels.
The championship is open to FIA GT2, ACO, FIA and SRO GT3 Cars (as defined in their series
regulations), other ACO, FIA and SRO GT4 cars, Modified Sports,SR2, GT Cars and Modified
Production Saloon Cars, all subject to D25.1.5 and H30.1.3 in the MSA 2012 Competitors
Yearbook".

The presence of GT2, GT3, SR2 cars in this reg seems at odds with the class power to weight & min weight regs??

Interesting. So both Topcats Marcoses will now be in the top class on account of their engine size alone.....

Well spotted, a layover from the GT regs. I've amended it so it will make a bit more sense in the next revision.

Sorry got the engine sizes listed wrong for the classes, should be:
GT3 max 7 litre engine, Power to weight 3.0
GT4 max 5.5 litre engine, Power to weight 3.4

5.9.2.1

Go on, bin it.

Too many box makers these days drive the wrong end of the car. Or do you want a one make series (BMW?)

Otherwise, liking the changes. Especially the punitive pitstop times for winners.
