Exhaust Manifold Paint - What's it called???

Hello,

When I was at Britcar this year, I noticed a lot of the cars had their exhaust Manifolds painted white. This is obviously to keep engine bay temps down, and also keep the heat in the manifold.

I have no idea what type of paint it is, where to get it, or if it is something you can do yourself. If it is a specialist task, where in the Southwest could I take mine?

My manifold is nothing special, it's a 4-1 which is standard on the 3SGE (MR2) but I'm looking to decrease engine bay temps.

I believe it's a ceramic coating, not paint. And yeah, mega specialist and quite expensive I believe.

Yep as others have said most likely Zircotec, its not cheap and will only lower temps by a couple of degrees. Heat bags are the most effective solution but again pretty pricey

Why not wrap the exhaust instead? Much cheaper and easy to do.

Zircotec is a brand, the process is ceramic coating.

Exhaust wraps are closely linked with cracked manifolds.

It can crack manifolds and cause other problems, but if you're careful and have Stainless headers it's a lot less likely to happen.

Though Zircotec is a lot better.
