Will Shumacher beat Rosberg in the points this year?

2 races to go, 5 points between them and at the moment Micheal appears to have Rosberg on race pace. Nico has barely improved from his starting positions this year, more often going backwards slightly. Shumacher seems to have worked out where his qualifying issues lie now, it was mentioned this weekend he's struggling to get the best from the tyres on the short qualifying runs, but this issue is helping him in the race as he is faster for longer.

He may have said yesterday in the interview with Lee Mckenzie he isn't bothered about beating his team mate this year but that's unlikely to be true. Personally I think he'll edge ahead of Rosberg but only just.

Hopefully next year Merc have a car that is capable of winning. I genuinely believe Schumacher is back up to pace now and in the right car would be chasing the title.

I think Schumacher has the spark back.

His race pace has been rather strong lately.
Although Rosberg seems to be the stronger in qualifying.

Rosberg is a puzzle to me. Last year he was obviously superior to a Schumacher who had not raced for three years; now a year later he is in danger of being eclipsed.
He is in a lose-lose situation: beat MSC and it's because MSC is 42; lose to him and it's because he's not as good as a 7 WDC and should suck up being second fiddle.
It must be getting to Rosberg that despite out qualifying MSC virtually every race, he generally ends up behind him when they both finish.

Schumacher's pace was quicker before and after the pitstops. If he hadn't passed him in the pits he would've passed him on the track.

That's right.
Schumacher has also had his fair share ( perhaps more last year ) of dodgy pit calls and wheel nut problems.

There is no doubt he is back up to speed now and has maybe reached the limit of the cars capabilities, but that's the one thing we'll never know about any driver unless all drivers were to be put in identical cars.

Merc and Brawn are so desperate to show how right they were to sign Schumacher that if they have half a chance to stick it too Nico they will.

I wish Nico could get a drive at Redbull or Ferrari so he could show us if he is the real deal. You got to say he must get well pis..d of to keep out performing MS to end up getting shafted over strategies etc etc. Schumacher even had to have FIA dispensation to run the lower race number in the team even though Nico had officially earned it being the higher points scoring driver in 7th as opposed to Michael's 9th.

I don't buy the consipracy theory with the wheel nut,(bad luck happens) nor has MS been outperformed all season. If you look at the races, then quite the opposite in many.

All in my opionion of course!

To a point I think he's the same as Adrian Sutil. He's a quick driver, but not outstanding. If he was Red Bull/Ferrari/Mclaren would've been knocking on the door already.

Rosberg doesn't sound too upset here, nor does he indicate that his team shafted him in order to benefit Schumi.

I'd go for Rosberg this year, but only because he currently has the points advantage. I think Rosberg and MSc are very close to each other speed wise currently, so it could all be down to luck.

MSC will no doubt like to beat NR and vise versa - and proper order too.

But MSC is a shrewd lad, he knows full well that it's not the holy grail, thus not that important once he's improving overall race on race. Good chance next season if his car can mix it with the two top teams, that's where his abilities, experience and an even greater understanding of these current F1 cars he will shine or at least make F1 a whole lot more entertaining.

Respect to the 42 year old, can't imagine any of the current 'stars' returning to compete in F1 at MSC's age, or more importantly any team willing to have an 'old man' as a driver. Merc & MSC, what a great side show, so far.
