Looks like a race for records.
Vettel is set to contest Michael Schumacher's record for most podiums in a season. Schumacher reigns supreme with 17 podiums in 17 races in 2002. Vettel's is currently 16 or 18 races this season. He needs to be on podium to equal Schumacher's.
Vettel is also set to crash Mansell's record for most pole-to-win in a season. Mansell won 9 of 16 races from pole in 1992. Vettel has won 9 of 18 races this season from pole, and will need to win today to usurp Mansell.
Mark Webber is set to dethrone Rubens Barrichello's record for most points in a career without a championship title. Barrichello has had 658 points. Webber stands at 644.5 points.
The following aren't records as such, but lesser milestones:
Jenson Button will move to 8th in the Total Starts ladder, replacing Andrea de Cesaris with 208 starts.
Jarno Trulli will move up to 3rd in Total Entries, replacing Ricardo Patrese with 257 entries. Jenson Button will overtake Gerhard Berger to become 8th.
If Vettel wins, he will be 2nd for Most Wins in a Season, overtaking Michael Schumacher's 2002 milestone of 11 wins.
