Roll on 2012 and terrestrial - so I loose half of them live - big deal - plenty of other things to do of a Sunday.
I disagree aswell, for me he is by FAR the best commentator i have heard. (In any sport) Well informed, been there done that, not afraid to have an opinion and also a good dose of humour.
My only problem with his commentating is it means he doesn't do so much racing these days. (Watching his Le Mans and daytona 24 charges are always a highlight and i make sure i watch any races he is in at Goodwood.) However he seems to be doing a bit more of it thelast year or so, hopefully he has negotiated a bit more freedom to do this sort of thing with the sky contract.

BBC had created the best television viewing experience for F1 I can ever remember. Such a shame its been stirred up by bleedin Sky....
... and yes I am one of those thats still bitter at the whole Sky deal as i'm staying with what the BBC has to offer

thats my thoughts, the bar is so high at the moment! ive just learned that i get the F1 on sky next year due to my HD bundle, so i cant moan too loudly. I expect a big bundle of crinklies was waved under his nose so can't blame him for taking it up.

argghhh im going to miss the classic gp's on the run up. snoozing while the fp1 & 2 practices are replyed on the red button when i come in from work on a friday evening. It's like im breaking up with a dirty pretty girl

The Brundle/Coulthard line up this year has had the feeling of two knowledgeable chaps chatting in the pub, adding so much more to the commentary than somebody just shouting out what they can see.
My wife has got more involved in F1 this year ("otherwise I won't see you half the weekend"), and likes the commentary too. I was worried that it would only appeal to the anoraks amongst us, but luckily it seems that any half-way intelligent being can understand the sport without the moronic shouters.
I've already got a Sky HD package so am going to be spoiled for choice next year. Two small kids means that I don't get much chance to watch the build up/analysis, so my opinion is likely to be made by the commentary chemistry.

Brundle, for me is one of the best commentators you could hope for. His balance of information and banter is spot on and his departure to sky whilst understandable is a great blow to the BBC.
I'm already a Sky HD customer so I suppose smugly, happy about this. I've got over the fact it's not going to be the same brilliant BBC F1 show next year, but at least with Brundel going to Sky and DC staying with BBC (I think he's still under contract for 2012) there will be a entertaining, knowledgeable commentator for each live race I watch as I intend (at this stage anyway) to watch the live F1 shows on the BBC and others on Sky.
Ultimately the Race is 'the show' I'm happy Jake will still be doing the Beeb ones, I guess the feed will be the same on both sides and as long as James Allen or Leg-ard don't find their way back in the booth I'll be happy.
