Now we know what is happening with TV coverage next year what viewing option will you be doing? As far as we know it will be free if you already have Sky Sports or Sky HD, £10 a month (£120 a year) if you have Sky but no sports or HD. If you dont have Sky then its £360 a year to get a suitable packaage to watch it all.

A bit of both for me, I'll watch some on the BBC and hopefully sweet-talk the father-in-law into sticking it on at his for a few races given that he already has Sky Sports...
Getting a subscription to Sky just for the it was never an option. Despite how much I love F1 I really can't justify £40 per month or whatever it is for Sky + Sky Sports for the sake of 2-3 hours of TV every two weeks or so

I'll be watching, even though I have Sky. The HD subscription will allow me to watch those that aren't on the BBC, and I'll switch to BBC HD when they are showing live coverage. If it wasn't for me already paying for Sky, I wouldn't buy it specifically, as there will be a number of places to watch it, or just catch the highlights that the BBC are committing to show.
When all of this first kicked off, I was firmly in the no to sky camp. However, now they have Brundle and a dedicated F1 channel there is the potential for the coverage to be even better. And for me, the race is only a small part of the package, more technical program's really appeals. Add this to not needing sky sports at £20 a month, and I am seriously considering giving them the chance.
Allied to the fact we get a 23% mortgage reduction early next year when we come off our fixed term, and sky plus broadband and phone is only £21 a month more than BT for broadband and phone.

I ticked the top one, but in reality I'll watch the BBC live shows, and Sky when they're 'Sky only', but will vote with my feet if Sky turns out to be the better watch.
Frankly I tend to watch the races hours after the even on the plus box anyway as I'm out cycling most Sundays, but I'd rather watch the whole thing late, than an abridged version anyway.

I'll probably just watch the BBC highlights of most of the races, it looks like sky got all but three of the good races 
I still can't justify spending £30-40 a month (is that how much sky is these days?) to watch a few hours of TV, even including WRC and other motor racing that is on ESPN/Eurosport etc.

I just don't agree with the BBC, to who I already pay a licence fee, for selling it to SKY.
Same happened with the Test cricket, can't remember when I last watched a game.
Same happened with premiership footy, also off my agenda now.
Well, not really selling it, but you know what I mean.
So, where does my licence fee go, now that the BBC don't pay for F1?

I know there's places with no virgin media (as there's no cables) but how come you can't get sky? Are you outside europe? Or do you have planning restrictions on putting a dish up?
It's just not available in the Netherlands. The only places that can get it are pubs, and I'm not sure how that works.Chrisgr31 said:

What's this about HD? We have Sky HD, but we don't have nor want the sports package because apart from F1 we don't watch any sport at all - does this mean we will be able to get it?
