I recently bought an old Formula Ford that needs a bit of TLC, i'm in t'he process of stripping it down and I want to get t'he chassis powder coated. Does anyone have ideas on what it should cost, what i need to do in terms of preparing t'he chassis, anything else i should know, and lastly any recomendations for someone to do it? (Car lives in Bracknell, Berks so somewhere local-ish would make sense..)
Thanks!

Get it blasted, then coated. That way it will be back to bare metal and you can give it a visual check for cracks on the joints.

Once it has been blasted put pieces of rolled up cardboard in any holes that you don't want filled with plastic.

Try to go for a satin finish as gloss shows marks very badly.

Hope that helps a bit.

Not sure on cost, but I'd have thought that under £75 would be about right. smile

Post the same question on here http://www.rgb-racing.org.uk/rgbbb/index.php and you will get the answers you are after with recommendations on where to get it done, several of the guys have been through this. Not sure why I remember but think cost is more like £200.

Good luck with your project.
