Thus spake Verstappen re Schumacher

Nothing new about Schmacher's car, but an explanation as to why he beat his much fancied team mate so easily. Odd Verstappen didn't mention having no safety filter in his fuel pump.
Man is something that shall be overcome. What have you done to overcome him?

Jos has said nothing new here. It's the old "Menu 13" chestnut again. Menu 13 contained launch and traction control. I thought this was common knowledge these days. The FIA found the code, but Lucifer, I mean Flav convinced them that you couldn't access it in the car, it was just part of the source code and they (from memory) "found that the ECU firmware was unstable/crashed if it [TC/LC] was removed - so they left it in, but disabled it in the menu". Yeah right.
The truth will out - eventually.... yuk
Today Verstappen & Herbert has aleady spoken. I don't think it would take much to get Rubens to add to this. It remains to be seen if the guy (Tad Czapski) who wrote the engine management software ever spills the beans. See; http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns01308.html
No wonder Damon's not to fond of 'the great one' (sic).
PS Eddie won't say anything, he was happy being paid to be Scumsucker's offsider.

Hopefully a decent journalist will put this to Schumacher on camera to get a reaction....

Acoustic analysis.

Damon drove extremely well in '96 but his best season unquestionably was stepping up in '94. The Japanese GP was certainly his best drive.

Yeah right.
Didn't McL do exactly the same thing too?Yeah right.

So Jos Verstappen is suggesting that if he'd had an equal car to Schumacher (if it was in fact unequal), he would have beaten him consistently?
I think Jos is deluded. Man up and admit you weren't as good.
To be fair, Nico Rosberg has the same car, isn't contractual beholden and isn't doing a bad job.... I think Jos is deluded. Man up and admit you weren't as good.
And Jos did beat Schumacher in Karts...
If it's not true, why say it and more pertinantly, why doesn't Schumacher comment on it....;)
If I were a 7 times champion, confident I hadn't cheated....
All that Verstappen has said is something that we've all known about for years: Benetton and Ferrari were one driver teams. Enough second drivers have come up with revellations about the way they were treated to support this.
When Verstappen's car went up in flames at the German GP I remember a comment in an F1 mag suggesting that it seemed odd that Schumacher didn't have the same mod and that Verstappen did - a little dig about the software I realised, albeit some time later.
Herbert's comments about sharing of information after he outqualified MSc indicate what it must have been like as a teammate.
'Everything but cruise control' is a phrase that was used to describe the Benetton, It seems odd that the wool was pulled over the FIA's eyes.

I always assumed that, if they were cheating, both cars would be illegal. Why would you give it to one driver and not the other if it was in the software anyway?
Because they wanted MSC to win!I seem to recall Red Bull taking a newley developed front wing off Webbers car and fixing it on to Vettel's car, it was said at the time that Dietrich Mateschitz favoured the German to get ahead.
Give the aid to the best driver in the team, I don't think MSC ever really had a challenging team mate in his career until his return to F1.
I've read this a few times, that MSC had TC.
Each post suggesting he did have has usually been articulate, well written and informed.
Each post suggesting he didn't has been fan boy esq 'MICHAEL DRIVES THE CAR CLOSER TO THE LIMIT THAN EVERYONE!!!' type.
I'm sold. And it annoys me that he still proclaims he has nothing to prove today. Erm, beat your current team mate son. Then I'll believe that.

I don't suppose you have that George Carmen QC link to hand?Bebee said:

The wing was availability. One part available so the favoured driver gets it. If you've got an illegal option in your ECU software what's the downside to giving it to both drivers? They were desperate for the constructors championship after all. After Herbet out-qualifed MSc there was a major change in his status. He was refused access to Schumacher's data but Schumacher was given full access to his. There were other, less subtle I'm told, changes. What was the downside to having both drivers fully briefed? They were desperate for the WCC after all.
To argue against Verstappen having all the benefits given to MSc flies in the face of a one-driver team. Further, there was evidence of traction control. Put it on both cars and it doubles the evidence.
It was there on both, but Jos was never given the sequence of button presses to "find" it. If you press this, this, and hold that, oh look at what you've found.......
As I understand it, yes McL also had their own "Menu 13", but were up front at explaining why it was still there and how it was not something that either a driver, or someone on the pitwall, could activate.
As for the filters, both rigs didn't have the filters, which helped Benny's pitstop times, and thus leapfrog other cars in the pits - as most overtaking was done in this manner, not on the track.
