hello darren,i was wondering what make of shifter, as i had seen craig is selling his box and shifter but i havn,t heard what he is putting behind the chevy to replace last season's box.I only ask as i am pricing up upgrading my gearbox this winter and have been thinking about fitting flat shift, i am using a chevy again in next year's car. ( with, i hope, better results in 2012 )I have the proshift kit on the top of harriets xmas present list for me,but it's never to late to change your mind for a different make.I,m aware this is a public forum and as such i,m not pushing for a reply to what could be sensitive information.Your car is looking like it means business,will you be out with DTEC at all next year.

Perry, all you need is a switch or sensor in the lever and an engine ECU with a flat shift option. And someone who properly knows how to set it up (different length cuts depending which gear you are shifting from and to).

I've just realised a "flat shift" is not a horizontal gear lever.

is the pro shift the closed loop system, that reads the selector position and cuts untill the gear is in rather than using a pre set cut time?


i did look into this a while ago for my sequential box ive got for the sag, althoughnthenway things are going at the moment i think i'll be racing the push bike .....

The Pro-shift paddle shift system is closed loop, but their 'Bump and blip' flat shift gear cut and throttle blipper is not. It is timer controlled, activated by a proximity sensor mounted on the gear lever.

we had a nightmare with the open loop paddle shift on the radical sr8.. but that was mainly air leaks and uncommanded shifts.


it did show how good someone like phil keen is, foot flat , just about to shift from 4 th to 5 th and got an uncommanded down shift. phil felt it start to down shift, and got the clutch in fast enough not to over rev the motor!!!!

looking at the data it was impressive..

for us mere mortals, it would have resulted in a blown motor, gearbox, lockedup car and probably a trip in to the barrier at 120!!!

its a bit tight and needs new leads but i am happy with it (emerald ecu nice bit of kit for not a lot of money)it was wheel spinning high up hence the funny lines on the chart

its not as much as the ls powered sags but it should be good round the corners so we will have to weight and see
