Silverstone GP Seating Advice

Having not been to a GP since seeing James Hunt at Brands Hatch in 1976! I have decided to take my car mad (will be) 8yr old son to the British GP this year. We will be going for all 3 days and luckily I won a charity auction for the use of a motorhome this summer, so this is the perfect opportunity to use it and 'camp' at Silverstone's campsite. The big father/son weekender 
But, I'd like some advice on seating etc.
Initially I thought "stuff it", make it memorable, wilt the credit card and go for Club Silverstone tickets (I like the idea of the marquee, food etc) but taking a reality check, it's damn expensive (ok, they all are) and TBH, as long as my son gets a bacon sarnie for breakfast and cheeseburger for one of his other meals then he is happy. Also, in the 'off race' times, we can go back to the motorhome.
I will probably go for Platinum seats as I want to make sure my son (and I
) are covered from the weather, be it hot or wet, and be in the better action areas, but it would still be a saving of approx £200 on Club Silverstone.
So, looking at the list of Platinum seats available here which would you recommend and why? One final thing to note is that I'm not one of life's great walkers (not for medical reasons, just a lazy sod) but, although I don't own a pushbike, I think my brother has a serviceable one so, I could take bikes to get around different vantage points Friday & Saturday and then stay put for Sunday, so I am probably looking at Becketts or Club (Abbey and Pit Straight are both sold out already).

You've pretty much answered the question yourself - Becketts or Club. I've sat in both on Friday's and Saturdays but only Club for the actual race.TIA
Hopefully you'll have started a debate 'en mass' as these two stands are firm favourites amongst this lot.
I prefer Club, moreso now, not just because you see them fly down Vale and round Club, but as you get to see down the start/Finish straight, pit lane and you'll see the podium. My tickets were in the region of seats 190-200 and I was looking right down the straight.
If you are camping off Dadford Road then I think Club's closer, though Becketts ain't much further.
Luffield or Woodcote are good for on track viewing but would be the furthest stands from the campsite.

We sat at Club last year and it was fantastic, you can see the cars come down at speed from Stowe/Vale and then slam on the brakes into Club which produces some good overtaking moves. You then see the cars accelerate out of Club and down the main straight.
I'd highly recommend it, we're going to sit there again this year.

I bought Club Silverstone tickets last year. They're expensive for what they are, but it did have it's advantages. Especially with all the rain we had! You get a nice marquee with lots of TV's showing the race and commentary, your own bar and restaurant, a large outdoor seating area with big screen and some pretty decent toilets - which mean you don't have the queue up for the regular ones!
The grandstand was good, exceptional views of a lot of the track actually. I was very surprised with how much I could see. You obviously get great first hand views of Maggots Corner, Beckets Corner and Chapel Curve, but you can also see right down Hanger Straight and part of Stowe. You can also see Village Corner, The Loop and a bit of Wellington Straight. You can also see them approaching the straight from Copse Corner, so you get to see a lot of the circuit from there.
The grandstand is up high too, so visibility is great. I was impressed, and would probably do Club Silverstone again.

We did this last year for the first time and it was excellent. Also a massive plus was that we were in and out of the circuit in minutes and could park near the stand. Sorry to bump an old thread. I have a few questions about Club Silverstone, I was hoping those of you who have bought Club Silverstone tickets in the past could answer.
1) Where exactly is the food marquee area? Is it by the stand or some distance away?
2) Roughly how long is the walk from the carpark to the Club Silverstone stand?
3) Is it possible to drop someone by the entrance to gate 8 and then park the car?
3) Is there a seperate route that Club Silverstone ticket holders take when they get to the circuit or do you get caught up in the traffic going to the general carparks?
