Looking for recommendations for a new helmet.
Main use will be UK sprints and hillclimbs in a single seater and / or open sports car (so full face clearly).
Cost isn't really an issue but I'd struggle with much more than £1,000.
This is a replacement for a CF "Impact" helmet which, it's been suggested, might have saved my life in 2011.
Must have HANS posts and the lighter the better.
Probably looking to purchase at AutoSport International.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Eric

One that fits.
Don't assume that all helemets fit the same, and the manufacturers have different views on what the "standard shape" head is. Its also not necessarily true that a more expensive helmet is the best one for you. As an eg, I bought a moderately expensive Bell by mail order but soon realised I had made a mistake as it "pinched" my forehead. I ended up going to DT in Wrexham & trying on several & found that the best fit for me was actually a much cheaper Sparco that was nominally a smaller size than the Bell I had bought.

Indeed, absolutely 100% agree ...Roadru77er said:
If the "Impact" saved your life can't think of a better reason to buy another.
... purely because I can't see any UK based retail outlets. The old one was bought from Demon Thieves (AI '08) so I was able to try it on before I bought it.
I have a large and apparently odd shaped head so it's vital that I can try before I buy.
Someone from a certain manufacturer spotted this post and was kind (and smart) enough to PM me and invite me to their stand at AI so that will be my first port of call.
Cheers,
Eric
