Motorsport events calendar
Discussion
Is there a single calendar (or resource) which contains a definitive list of motorsporting events and their dates/location etc.
I use the calendar on Ian hardy's website but is there anything out there that's better/more definitive.
It's not just the major events I'm interested in, I wouldn't mind seeing some low budget Club events, too.
Not going to the F1 GP (I don't think) this year should free up funds for several other motorsporting weekends.
That said, I'm kinda lacking in what I've seen so if you can recommend any good races to attend, I'd be most grateful.
Many thanks,
Scott

Glad I'm not the only one!
I currently use this calendar.
It's OK and has served me well in the past but now feel the need for something more definitive/diverse.
Scott
that is a cracking start.........I currently use this calendar.

This has pretty much every event listed, and not just in the UK. Everything from F1 to hillclimbs and karting.

There is a free App for Android, which I've had a hand in...
It covers most International level races and will include Phone Calendar integration soon.
For 2011 we covered 32 race series. We are looking to increase that for 2012.
It provides a chronological list of events and also allows a user to filter by series. Races can be individually added to a list of Favourites or a whole Series can be added to a list of Favourites. For each Event we've added a pictorial representation of each circuit, together with the official URL and track length.
It's still a WIP.
The idea is that the Favourites can be added to your Phone Calendar and reminders set up. There are other improvements in the pipeline as well, to add a little more value to it just being a Calendar. Although the majority of the work is being done in spare time..

Good effort - really good that.
Pity I'm not an Android user.
Anything in the pipeline for iPhone?
Would love to do iPhone, but the cost of doing it prohibits us. Android can be developed on a PC (already have one - don't have a Mac and I don't think there are any SDKs which will develop for iPhone on Windows.. Although WinDev Mobile 17 might, but it's in French only at the moment, they always delay their English version) and the SDK used (Basic4Android) costs 100 USD. Thereafter costs are the same.. i.e. to register as a Developer, etc.. around 20 USD. With Android we can also target Playbook (they have an online conversion tool, free to use) and via Amazon and then through Bluestreak (or something along those lines!) Windows devices.Pity I'm not an Android user.
