I'd be amazed if this actually happens - Williams can hardly be his family's favourite team... However, he does deserve a full season in a reasonable car to show what he can do. He'll have to blow Maldonado into the weeds though to save his career long-term.

I would have though the seat was between Barrichello and Sutil.

Sutil must surely be out of the picture? imagine the headlines:

"Williams driver in court for attack"
"Williams driver goes to prison for attack"

?
Keep in mind Williams floated in Frankfurt and the trial will happen there.

If the worst happened, you'd have to find someone else mid season. If you remember its how Schumacher got his break smile

Williams need cash - AT&T dropped them, Senna brings Embratel with him. Over the last week some big exec from Embratel tweeted that the deal was done, Senna then had to come out and say he'd hadn't signed. Rubens apparently has got some backing too.

Who knows whats going on.

Senna or Rubens.

As a Williams fan I'm happy either way.

Shame that they can't have both with an all Brazil Line up...

No, I wasn't joking. I cant believe for one moment that the Senna family attribute Ayrton's death to Sir Frank or the Williams team.

Agreed. The family have *never* blamed Williams in any form.

Update me, are they tied to Maldonardo?

Only by funding via PDVSA for sponsorship. I guess if Senna could bring enough to displace? But PDVSA bring ~$30m...?

They need shot of Maldonado. Senna would be a great asset to Williams. Not sure if Rubens has much more to offer but he is a senior figure at a time when the are losing a lot of the consistent figures in the team. I would so like to see a renaissance in the fortunes of the Williams team.

Thats not the same as wanting Bruno to drive for them.

Hope he gets it as he deserves the chance but I'll be sorry for Rubens. They'd be better off dumping Maldonado (from a driver's perspective) and keeping Rubens and adding Senna. What a great training ground.

I am afraid its not about 'the driver' at Williams at the moment.

Never has been ...

No driver has been bigger than the Team more than any where else than Williams,Frank though in the past had a car that could atttract quality drivers.

Agreed. Look at the drivers he has 'dropped' in the past!

We will never see the like again. Watching those documentaries about Williams a couple of years ago, I got the feeling that they had become a little corporate and stuck in their ways. Almost unionised.

F1 needs entrepeneurs and mavericks!

If the Senna family want Bruno to follow his dreams and reach his career potential, then at the moment i don't think they can be too picky about where he goes.
