Hey Mike,
How's it going? Guess I'll look to lose a stone. Going to be doing some longer stuff this year in a shared drive, and keeping weight down is about as far as I go. Best training for racing is racing as they say. I also have the advantage of an open car as opposed to the sauna you drive! wink
Do you run PAS?

Yes good thanks Andy. I run electric pas and get on with it really well. That's one of the issues with my car, it really does get stupidly hot inside!

Amazing how racing changes your lifestyle, when I started racing I was 17 stone!

yeah, but you'd lost most of that by Autosport 2009 I seem to remember!

We'll be running electric pas too. switchable so we can turn it off.
Not tried it yet, some love some dispise it!
My Griff had pas and I liked that, but I'm now converted to non-pas in my Tuscan.

GT cup again next year? You thought about their endurance races?

Yes we will be running GT Cup. They have introduced a faster class for the 458's and other modern GT3 cars so we will be going into that. Will be a challenge!

Going to concentrate on the sprint race championship this year. May look to some longer distance stuff in the future.

I was still the best part of 15 stone at Autosport 2009. Down to 13.1 as of this morning. Trying to achieve 12 and a half before the start of the season although that may be a step too far.

Im not sure what more we can do. I do wonder if the front end is difficult as we have the rear pretty much perfect.... With the plate diff i can turn the thing on the throttle anyway. Tyre wear was pretty even front to back last year. What the car really needs now is a sequential box. Its a visible disadvatage of around two car lengths every gear change and more like 5 car lengths from 2nd to third!

Feel i have somthing to prove this year.....

You don't have anything to prove mate, things may work out better for you this year with better support.

Seq is a definate must at that level.
Besides the shift speed advantage (out of every low gear corner), you also can't bag a wrong gear.Something that happens to me atleast once per weekend.

How much neg do you run on the front nowddays?
Spring rates?

BTW, it is possible to have the back Tooo good you know.

Big wing, trick diff etc. Will always push the front wide and cause mid corner wash out.
Usual place to start the set up is from the from and work back.

Problem with the sequential is the cost of the item and then the many hours setting it up to work properly.

Were running 950's all round with 5.5 neg on the front. We have near perfect tyre temps across the tyres. I still think the front looks like it could be sprung higher however that will loose us grip rather than gain it! Would like to play with some front aero aswell, but every year we run out of time.

Still think that neg number is too high on the front.
Stiffening up the springs and running less will help with tyre wear, but you'd need better aero at the front to make that happen. Then I guess chassis flex would also be a factor in the Cerb even if only from the windcreen forward. Continuos battle as ever, 1 problem solved = two more appear.
Have you had a chat with someone like Shorty who developed the first racers?

Seq £££s? Defo, but beating 458s without is giving WAY too much away, even for you!

Good luck with though mate, I'll keep an eye open for you.

We certainly don't seem to have any issues with chassis flex. The honeycombed aluminium splitter goes all the way back to the gearbox and is mounted to the chassis so acts as an extra stiffening plate.

Will look at some front dive plates. Think the car is quicker in terms of lap times than shortys? Although ours is a sprint car.

Actually just had a look back through some old lap times. Rib barf in the speed 6 cerb seems to have approx 1.5 seconds on me (me with 100kg ballast) so probably fairly similar. However it's hard to tell if the tracks have changed? Donington, brands GP and oulton international. Shame spa had changed!

Would suggest your tyres are touch better and most of the tracks you mention have had some tarmac since.

ETA: All have had changes to their layouts, even if just a re-profile here and there.
