From a recent BRSCC e-mail, I noticed that 4 DTEC race cars will be featured on the BRSCC stand at this year's Race Retro Show. So which cars are they and shouldn't we be promoting the fact, since DTEC doesn't get a lot of press with either BRSCC or MSA!

Has anybody been to this before? Is there an opportunity to get some discounted kit from any exhibitors (couldn't make Autosport this year)?

There is now only 3 cars on display. There was going to be 3x TVR and 1x MG (to promote them joining the series this year) but when the BRSCC measured again there isn't enough space for 4.

Yes there is some scope to buy from exhibitors - though it does depend on what you want. I got new race battery last year (though it did help our car was on display so I could check for fitment sizes too lol). They did do a good deal on the day too.

I'll be there on Saturday looking around (I'm hoping to have a stand next year so wanting to check out the competition lol), maybe see some of you there??

Hi Perry, yes matey. They've got their own registration form and a few have signed up that I know of smile

They will share the grid with us, but to my knowledge will not be scoring points or anything. I'm hoping even more that I will be on the track this year, the racing will be awesome!! biggrin

Thanx Dave.I find it a little odd that as we all pay to race in DTEC that some know whats going on and some of us don,t.I surpose it,s a need to know mushroom thing,.None the less i for another, look forward to the MG,s on track although i hope i don,t get in the way of them coming through. biggrin

So it still leaves the question of the third car on the stand - not that I know who "Michael Shapeshifter" with a Tuscan Challenge car is?
James and I shall be there on Sat too.
And whilst on the subject, I agree with Perry, it would have been appropriate to have been given more of a heads up on the MGs racing in DTEC issue! For example, will it now be called the DT/MG European Challenge or will the MGs be "Invitation Class" and merely there to 'muddy the waters' of TVR racing?!?

As i understand it, the three cars will be Martin's No21 Tuscan ,Freds No23 Sagaris, and Michael's (new driver) Tuscan Challenge car, fresh from it's Grantura rebuild.
There was going to be an MG as well, but BRSCC have said there is space only for three cars.

The International Historic Motorsport Show will be showcasing some very nice tackle from all the great racing Marques, the DTEC stand therefore, has to field the cars from our Championship that are more likely to catch the eye of the Race Retro punter.

Whilst, IMHO all racing TVR's are undervalued at present, i still think it's the right move to have some of the higher value DTEC cars at this particular show.

Michael's car hasn't raced with us yet, in it's new guise (although it's a car with a lot of racing history) but it will be doing , and it looks absolutely stunning - show standard in fact.

Anyway... Ain't No Business Like Show Business biggrin

I'll be there Saturday btw (getting mileage out of the BRSCC coffee machine hehe)

Mike's car is better than new. Fantastic car, in looks and engineering standard. A credit to JR who rebuilt it and Mikes wallet and wish to build THE best Tuscan.
Fred GTF will pull interest as its a Sag based design and Martins is a very high standard car too.

Need the best of the best IMHO to pull in new blood.

How many are going? (new thread)

Well the trailer is ready to take the car to Race Retro, the only thing is its raining - the car is far too pretty to get wet.

Crikey Mike,

If that was mine it would be in a Race shuttle, under a large duvet with warm, dried air being wafted over it by several attractive topless supermodels rubbing hawain tropic over themselves!!!

LOOK, ITS MY DREAM AND THATS THAT! biggrin
