Anyone watch it? I'm no massive supporter of 2L touring cars but both racers were breathless slipstream battles - amazing stuff!

It was okay...

But it reminded me why I don't watch touring cars, there's just way too much contact (chicken/egg), the races are far too short. I don't find the cars (they are based on) very appealing either.

I'd like the cars to be the next class up, like they used to be, saloons not hatchbacks (I know 3 series Beemer).

Maybe I'm getting old but I'd rather watch GTs & endurance, or motogp, or superbikes.

As for slipstreaming, it's monza, it doesn't matter what races there, there's usually plenty, the trouble is you wouldn't be allowed to build a race track something like monza these days. There in is another problem...

Keep FWD Touring cars for National series.
For an FiA World Championship - you want the best tracks, drivers and the best cars. If that means a ‘V8 Supercar/ DTM type’ of car so be it. Lots of power, loads of noise, and spectacular......everything that a 1.6LTurbo WTCCar isn’t.
I’d prefer the races to be longer as well, say a 50 min race, choice of pit stops or not...depending on tyres. A World Championship without a Factory team from one of the Big Manufacturers isn’t really happening, is it?

totally agree, two great races, the second one being slightly better. i even quite enjoyed the qualifying, seeing tarquini beat the factory chevy's was entertaining.

2 brilliant races, if anyone cant enjoy that then christ they may as well give up and do something else.

Very controversial with Huff and Muller, amazing save though!

I didn't even think about the nature of the cars, it was just brilliant racing. I've seen BTCC, ETCC and WTCC under their 2L guises and the cars don't move me like a modern DTM or Superstars machine but for pure racing, a close field of handy drivers around Monza is total magic. I couldn't leave my eyes off the screen for a moment. Oh, and seeing them flat through the first Lesmo was deeply impressive.
